In the past few days, I have been thinking about who I want to work with for the next few years where there is high market potential. Let me share a few thoughts with you, and would love to hear your thoughts on the subject. Some are presidents of countries or company executives in their first 100 days. Other are…

My friend Hans Peter Hartman is here visiting from Switzerland. He did my Relationships Workshop (personal transformation) workshop in Zurich about 20 years ago. Last night after playing golf we had dinner at PapaRazzi and he told me that the workshop transformed his life.

Is There an Ideal Age for Entrepreneurs

A lot of dialogue has popped up on Twitter recently about the “peak age” of entrepreneurs. Vivek Wadwa stated in 1999, that “Old Guys Rule,” citing data that showed that men over 40, who were married and with children, had the highest chance of success. They also did better on founder aptitude tests. Yet, there are different findings recently, especially in internet and mobile space.

Your First 100 Days Book Now Available

100 days

My book “Your First 100 Days in a New Executive Job” is finally available on Amazon. The clue to what it is about is actually in the subtitle: “Powerful First Steps on the Path to Greatness.”

The book is about how you can use your first 100 days to start building the power and influence needed to realize an Impossible Future that will make a difference, while at the same time delivering on your day job.

The key is creating a virtuous circle of increasing credibility, momentum, and results through quick, high-leverage wins, and avoiding a vicious circle of diminishing credibility.

Entrepreneurship…Passion and Control

There is an immense power in paying attention to your personal DNA code, and following your passions, talents, and interests. As Gary Vaynerchuk points out in his book Crush It, if you do that, there is a good chance you will eventually find a way to monetize it, which provides the opening to start a new business venture.

I’m Making the Shift From Coaching Fortune 500 CEOs to Entrepreneurs

April 22, 2011, by Robert Hargrove No comments yet
3 billion capitalists

I spent many years working as a coach, consultant, trainer to big Fortune 500 corporations. I worked with many brand name companies and their CEOs and executive teams. There is perhaps no more heady experience of walking around a big company with the blessing of the CEO: What does the chairman think about this or that? Would you consider coming to work in our part of the organization?

Don’t Underestimate the Opening for Change. Our masterful coaching certification program is about coaching CEOs and other top executives and is based on 12 conversations. Arguably the two most important conversations are 1) Declare an Impossible Future, and 2) Master the Political Chessboard.

Trying to realize an Impossible Future implies radical change, which is threatening to people who have an established power base. Thus, mastering the political chessboard is essential

I have been researching the top ten venture capitalist firms over the past week as I build out my website, The Revenue Engine, intended to help entrepreneurs grow their business. Most of these companies say they offer entrepreneurs high quality coaching and mentoring, not just throwing money into their coffers. That sounds like a great idea, but one thing about this gave me pause.

Right now I am in South Korea at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel, sipping a bow of Japanese udon noodles in my room. It’s 1:47 in the morning. I gave a talk on Transforming Leadership at Hana Bank today in Seoul Korea, a bank that has an Impossible Future to be one of the top 50 banks in the world. I found myself on a big stage talking to about 800

I need your help in telling other people about Masterful Coaching, the 3rd edition. I believe this book can help change the world, but I can’t do it without you.

As I say in the first chapter of my book Masterful Coaching, “Coaching is an extraordinary way to make a difference in the life of one person, the community, the entire world… It is one of the highest expressions of what it is to be a human being.”

We get lots of emails from people all over the world who have read Masterful Coaching. In many cases, they say very nice things about the book, like “this is one of the best books I’ve ever read in my professional career.”
