I was coaching a pretty famous entrepreneur yesterday whose name shall be anonymous and who I will call ‘Jack.’ The entrepreneur has made $5 to $15 million yearly for the past fifteen years, but believe it or not, was in a cash flow crunch. This fellow’s business has done brilliantly in the past, but the whole business environment and market has changed so radically that he can no longer afford to be who he has always been, or get the old business model to produce the kind of income it previously did.

Is There an Ideal Age for Entrepreneurs

A lot of dialogue has popped up on Twitter recently about the “peak age” of entrepreneurs. Vivek Wadwa stated in 1999, that “Old Guys Rule,” citing data that showed that men over 40, who were married and with children, had the highest chance of success. They also did better on founder aptitude tests. Yet, there are different findings recently, especially in internet and mobile space.

As Gary Vaynerchuk points out in his book Crush It, if you do that, there is a good chance you will eventually find a way to monetize it, which provides the opening to start a new business venture.

Entrepreneur Coaches Wanted

I have been researching the top ten venture capitalist firms over the past week as I build out my website, The Revenue Engine, intended to help entrepreneurs grow their business. Most of these companies say they offer entrepreneurs high quality coaching and mentoring, not just throwing money into their coffers. That sounds like a great idea, but one thing about this gave me pause.
